“You can’t have a million-dollar dream with a minimum-wage work ethic.” – Stephen C. Hogan
Have you ever heard the phrase, “their eyes were too big for their stomach?” This is normally used when someone’s appetite is bigger than what they can eat. For this reason, it’s usually a good idea to avoid the grocery store when you’re hungry; if you’re like me this inevitably ends up with a cart full of too much food spontaneously chosen based on my cravings at the time.
Hopefully this is not received the wrong way, but network marketers are often guilty of what Hogan is pointing out. The excitement and culture of the industry opens our minds to a world of potential. Our eyes start to widen after seeing the paystubs and lifestyles of those who are having success. If we’re not careful, our minds raise our expectations to a level that our work ethic is not ready for.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to have big goals and multi-level-marketing has more potential than most any other opportunity available to us, but DO NOT FORGET that it isn’t a free ride. Network marketing takes consistent and dedicated work. If you want a million-dollar income, then you need a million-dollar work ethic! You are more than able to be one of those earners, but don’t think that just because you watched a couple YouTube videos and made a few calls that you’re going to get there. Make sure your work-ethic lines up with what you aim to achieve!
